Goldfrapp – “Drew“

Leaving behind the dance party of their previous releases, Goldfrapp get serious on their new full length, which came out last week.

Straight from Jason Bentley:

“Goldfrapp’s disco dominatix persona is decidedly muted on “Tales Of Us”, giving way to a soft light and smoldering intensity.”

Toro y Moi – “Campo”

Toro y Moi’s 2013 full length “Anything in Return” is pretty much guaranteed to make some Top Ten lists around here. Chaz Bundick always has something interesting up his sleeve and, in this case, it’s a new track, “Campo”, which will be available as a 7” single exclusively on his fall North American tour.

Cold War Kids visited our studios for a one-hour takeover earlier this week in anticipation of their homecoming show at the Wiltern on Thursday, September 19. Their “Tuxedo” EP is out today and they ‘ve posted a few covers to their Soundcloud recently, including a version of “Condemnation” by Depeche Mode, who also happen to be playing in LA this month!

Bonus: This Antony and the Johnsons cover….WOW. beautiful.

Erlend Øye – “La Prima Estate”

What better way to cleanse your musical palate than with some sparking pop from Erlend Øye, sung in Italian.

The artist – who also records as Whitest Boy Alive and is one half of Kings of Convenience – is Norwegian, but spent some time in Sicily and “La Prima Estate” is the result! It just sparkles.
