    Urban Cone – “Sadness Disease”

Workouts are a great time to listen to new music and a little Swedish pop goes a long way, especially when you’re repeatedly running up and down flights of stairs.

This high energy track is super infectious and is all the motivation you’ll need to do just about anything.

The quintet is composed of Rasmus Flyckt, Magnus Folkö, Tim Formgren, Emil Gustafsson, and Jacob William Sjöberg. You might recognize Emil’s voice from Porter Robinson’s “Lionhearted”, which we played a bunch earlier this year.

Angel Olsen – “May As Well”

Angel Olsen has a voice that can bring you to your knees in seconds. She has a quivering vibrato reminiscent of Roy Orbison that can just devastate when she sings lyrics like “if you really love me, there’s no way to tell”.

She put out one of the best albums of the year with “Burn Your Fire for No Witness” and this is a bonus track that will be included on the deluxe edition of the album. She’ll be in LA in early December, with shows at the El Rey and Silent Movie Theater.

    Generationals – “Gold Silver Diamond”

Generationals have been churning out oddball pop since their excellent 2009 debut “Con Law”.

The New Orleans duo (Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer) always manage to entertain me on many levels with their songs. The quirkiness is definitely part of the fun and it comes through in this video for sure.

The track is from their latest full-length “Alix”.

Quantic and His Combo Barbaro – Undelivered Letter

Tru Thoughts is one of our favorite independent music labels operating out of the UK. They’ve released a lot of music we love from folks like Quantic, Alice Russell and the Bamboos.

They recently celebrated their 15-yr anniversary and released a compilation to celebrate. This one is a flashback to 2009, but is available on the new comp!
