    Duck Sauce–“Quack” EP

Duck Sauce, the dance duo comprised of house music legend Armand Van Helden and legend-in-the-making, A-Trak, had an unlikely worldwide pop hit in 2010 with their song “Barbra Streisand” (here it is if you need a refresher).

The song was fun, catchy and brimming with unbridled bombast, which is a pretty apt description of most every song in Duck Sauce’s (small-ish) discography.

This spring Duck Sauce will release their debut album they’re calling “Quack“, on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold label.

To tide us over until then, the boys dropped a free four song EP called “Duck Droppings“ via their Soundcloud page.

“Party In Me” and “Mondo” are my jams on here, and if this is the stuff that isn’t going to make “Quack“, Duck Sauce’s first LP is going to be a monster.

    Tree – “The @MCTREEG EP”

Next to his his city’s teenage counterparts like Chief Keef and Chance The Rapper, Chicago rapper/producer Tree sounds like a grizzled vet.

Imbued with his self-described “soul trap” style, Tree’s “Sunday School II“ mixtape was one of my favorite rap releases of 2013.

Tree is back with a new (free) release he’s calling The @MCTREEG EP. It’s short and sweet, clocking in at just over 20 minutes, but serves as a pretty good introduction to Tree for the uninitiated.
