From KCRW DJ Anthony Valadez:

Let me just get to the point, James Blake’s self-titled LP is one of the most amazing albums I have ever heard and felt.

With roots in the dubstep UK music scene with his band Mount Kimbie, the London-based singer/composer manages to graduate to a new sonic aesthetic in the way he utilizes his vocals in the mix for his solo debut.

In late 2009, Blake released a cover of Feist’s “Limit To Your Love” which managed to find itself across many blogs across the globe.

His ability to layer vocals, samples and interesting effects in such a soulful manner remain unique and something to watch out for in 2011.

— Anthony Valadez

(Editor’s Note: James doesn’t have any LA tour dates scheduled at the moment, but it looks like he’s heading to Austin for the SXSW music festival in March. KCRW will be there and we will try to track him down!)
