KCRW Premiere: Oceaan Remixed by Young & Sick

Young & Sick aka Nick Van Hofwegen made a big impression on us at SXSW with his electronic soul and now he’s taken on one of our favorite tracks of the moment, “Veritas” by Manchester-via-Brussels producer Oceaan.

He strips back some of the original’s layers of sound for a more simple approach that somehow manages to give the song MORE impact. I love what he’s done with it.

Jason Bentley is a fan of both artists and call this the “the future of R&B from two of the freshest newcomers on the scene.”

“I listened to this beautiful song, and wanted to find a way to bring some attention to the gorgeous vocals. I love space, I love hearing nuances… The remix is just a call to one of the many details placed in this song. I loved working on this one- it’s an adventure into modern feeling.”
