Lianne La Havas: Artist You Should Know

Lianne La Havas was previously profiled in our Love from London series and now she is taking hold on our airwaves here at KCRW! Here are some additional reflections on the artist from DJ Jason Kramer.

I first found Lianne La Havas when doing a little research about what’s going on in England, where she has been nominated for BBC’s Sound of 2012 alongside Azealia Banks, Frank Ocean and recent KCRW guest Michael Kiwanuka.

At 22 years-old, Lianne caught my ear with her soulful vocals and beautiful melodies. I am definitely a sucker for amazing voices. There is no need to tell you twice. Her EP “Forget” was released recently and the title track is receiving a great deal of attention at KCRW.

Also, check out the video for “No Room for Doubt”, which features a duet with another talent, singer songwriter Willy Mason.

Coming off her tour with Bon Iver last winter, Lianne will be supporting Bombay Bicycle Club on their UK tour in April. She also has a full length due out in Spring on Warner Bros. Records.

She is an artist with a long and brilliant future for many years to come. Opposite of the title, you will not “forget” this infectious song or EP.
