The first single from Fool’s Gold has been all over the internet – and our airwaves — in recent weeks. Their pop songs are infused by a melting pot of influences from all over the world, just like the city they are based in.

Yep, they’re one of LA’s own.

And after hearing the entirety of their sophomore full length “Leave No Trace”, which will be out August 16 on local label IAMSOUND, I can tell you it is destined to be one of the best local albums released this year.

It’s the energy! I could not sit still listening to it. I was, literally, dancing around the house joyously after a hard day of work.

If you caught them at the Hollywood Bowl last year as part of KCRW’s World Festival, you know they can win over a gigantic venue with their live show and I can’t wait to see them play again. They’re touring Europe now and will be back in town by Labor Day weekend since they’re on the bill for the FYF Fest.

If you want to hear more, check out their live session on KCRW from 2009.
