We’ve already given Gardens & Villa some love on this Music Blog, back when DJ Chris Douridas gave a raving review of their live show. And now that I’ve had time to live with the album, I HAD to throw in my two cents, because “Orange Blossom” is one of my favorite tracks of the year.

Gardens & Villa – Orange Blossom by KCRW

It’s provocative and sensual – both the music and the lyrics:

Think of me like a swarm of bees,

buzzing around your leaves.

To pollinate means ecstasy.

Mmmm hmmm.

I don’t know what the band would think about me saying this, but it is definitely make out music.

The Santa Barbara-based band (close enough to call them local) opened for other local favorites Foster the People, so you can bet the word is out on these guys. They’re still on the road – touring with Generationals and then Craft Spells – and you can catch them at the Echo on Thursday, July 14! All their tour dates are below.

p.s. their self-titled album is out now on Secretly Canadian.
