M. Ward is one of those incredible yet understated artists that has accomplished so much but is never flashy about it.

He’s collaborated on some great projects, including with Zooey Deschanel on She & Him. They have a new album, “Classics”, which is streaming now as part of our Album Preview series, but I wanted to flash back to some of his solo work.

Matt appeared on Morning Becomes Eclectic in 2004 and did a beautifully melancholic version of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” that was later featured on a covers compilation release by the station.

In honor of the re-release of his 2005 album “Transistor Radio”, Merge Records shared the cover, which you can hear below!
