Americana artist Margo Price is readying the release of her new album That’s How Rumors Get Started. It was slated to drop in early May, but like all of us, her plans have changed due to COVID-19 and the album has been pushed back. The record was produced by the cosmic-country great Sturgill Simpson, and features the 70s throwback, fuzzed-out track “Twinkle Twinkle.”
While Margo anxiously awaits the album rollout, and ensuing tour, she shared with KCRW her favorite quarantine reads, plus a playlist featuring some of the greatest songwriters to ever do it.
From Margo:
Music has been one of the only things that has comforted me during this pandemic. New Lucinda Williams, Swamp Dogg, and of course the greatest of all time — my friend and yours — John Prine, have always brought me relief during hard times. I hope this collection of songs eases the pain for everyone listening out there.
Thanks to KCRW for the support and the opportunity to share some of my favorite songs, new and old. To my fans, I love you so much and I can’t wait to share more music from my new album with you. Until we meet again — be safe, stay home and stay well.
