Moderat is a hybrid of two Berlin-based acts you likely ALREADY know – Modeselektor and Apparat.

Our DJs have hopped on their new album, out on Mute Records on August 6, particularly the track “Bad Kingdom”.

The track is intense, thumping, bassy electronica, with a pretty pop hook.

Apparat (real name: Sascha Ring) met bass brothers Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary 12 years ago and collaborated on an EP, following that with their self-titled debut four years ago.

The trio is back, combining their pioneering spirits on a new full length which finds them meeting in the middle between thundering bass and emotive house music with sensitive melodies.

The full album, “II”, is streaming as part of KCRW’s Album Preview series and you can see them like at Club Nokia on August 29.
