Mon Laferte is a Chilean expat who came to prominence about 3 years ago, while living in Mexico City. In 2015 she released Mon Laferte Vol. 1, a self-titled album that had a slow burn but garnered the attention of the music industry.

Her ranchera style song, “Si Tú Me Quisieras,” became a huge streaming hit, with vocals reminiscent of Ana Gabriel (huge Mexican pop star in the 80's). And she even got to perform it at the Latin Grammys in 2016 with Juanes on guitar. The performance lead to an actual collaboration with the Colombian superstar on a track called “Amarrame.” It became a lead single on Mon Laferte’s 2017 release, La Trenza, and the rest as they say, is history.

Her music is soulful and heartfelt. Her performance is captivatingly stylized as well. She is the most streamed Chilean artist ever and continues to tour and release albums at an incredible pace. Mon's performances are must-sees, including her recent stop by .

Watch two highlights from the performance, taken from her 2018 release Norma.
