Music For Your Weekend: Aaron Byrd's overlooked albums of 2019 edition
KCRW DJ Aaron Byrd digs a bit deeper into the best of 2019, with this list of overlooked albums.
Hope you are enjoying the holidays, I know I certainly am. The next time we touch base will be in the New Year, but while we're still in 2019, here are a few releases from this year that were slept on.
By the way, I intentionally waited to submit this list until after everyone's "Best Of" lists were published, because it's a safe bet that if one of us DJs have declared an album worthy of our Top Ten then it has not been slept on. As a consequence, none of the following albums are on anyone's lists and are in no particular order.
Enjoy and happy New Year!
Bobby Oroza - This Love
The Godfathers Of Deep House SA - The 1st Commandment Chapter 27
BEA1991 - Brand New Adult
Maria Usbeck - Envejeciendo
A concept album about our obsession with youth and death. Lush with tropical, new wave, synth-heavy pop songs sung in Spanglish
Garçons - Be Human
Noah - 像自己
Dexter Story - Bahir
Hemlock Ernst & Kenny Segal - Back at the House
Carla dal Forno - Look Up Sharp
iLe - Almadura
