I was in attendance at the Cold War Kids show that proved they were destined for success beyond LA. It was at the Echo , a packed house, and I was in the back jumping on a couch by the DJ booth. Their music made me feel alive the way the best music does. It was propulsive and filled with passion.

I still have the two EPs I purchased that night (and the buttons designed by bass player Matt Maust). This morning, one of the tracks from the “With Our Wallets Full” EP, “Rubidoux“, came on my iTunes shuffle and little did I know it was a precursor for brand new music released today from theie forthcoming LP. This song has everything I love about the Cold War Kids in it, and its interesting to hear Nathan Willett’s reflections on life at this point in his career.

    Check out “Miracle Mile“.

Their fourth full length album, recorded in their San Pedro studio space, called “Dear Miss Lonelyhearts” will be out on April 2 via Downtown Records.

If you want to catch one of their always epic live shows, they have a few in SoCal coming up, including February 15 at Pappy and Harriets in Pioneertown and February 23 at Soho in Santa Barbara.
