Malaysian-born singer Yunareally impressed us with her debut album and she returns with a new EP, called “Sixth Street”, via Verve Records on May 7.

While a track like “Live Your Life” was really contagious, there’s a relaxed vibe to her new song “I Wanna Go” that I really like. It seems effortless, though I’m sure that wasn’t the case.

Jason premiered the track on Morning Becomes Eclecticlast week and you can take a listen below.

She wrote the entire EP in her apartment and Mike Einziger served as producer on this song.

Even though she covered Incubus’ “I Miss You” in her live session for us, I couldn’t help but be a little surprised to see their guitarist listed as producer, so I asked Yuna how they ended up working together:

“Ive always been a huge Incubus fan. One day Billboard invited me to perform an acoustic set and they asked for a cover song. The song that I always know how to sing and perform was “I Miss You” by Incubus, and I guess Mike saw that cover. He got in touch with me and wanted to work together! It was really a dream come true for me. Now whenever I record with him or go get coffee together before our session, I still can’t wrap myself around the idea that this is Mike Einziger, and I am going to make music with him.”

Mike was similarly smitten with Yuna:

“Yuna is an incredibly talented, graceful, and humble musician with the capacity to reach a truly international audience. She will be filling stadiums in the near future, I have no doubt.”

Their musical lovefest has resulted in a great song. Congrats to both!
