We’ve been fans of Welsh-born songstress Cate Le Bon for quite some time. Her collaborations with Boom Bip & Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals as Neon Neon and Tim Presley of White Fence as DRINKS, guest spots on records by Davidge and the Chemical Brothers, as well as her own solo releases, have made her an artist of distinction and taste, not to mention of intriguing talent. She has a new album, Crab Day, coming out next month, as well as a special sold-out concert at the Masonic Lodge of Hollywood Forever this Wednesday, March 30 in her adopted homeland of Los Angeles. To celebrate both of these occasions, I spoke with her via telephone in Wales as she was wrapping up a series of European dates in anticipation of the new album. We spoke of the similarities between the music scenes in Wales & LA, whether her music qualifies as “dance” music, and the meaning behind her back-up band’s name, Banana. Listen here:

You can revisit Cate’s previous appearances on Morning Becomes Eclectic below:

    From February 27, 2012

    From December 16, 2013
