I fell hard for Real Estate after becoming obsessed with the first track on their 2009 debut. The song is called “Beach Comber” and opens with the lyrics “what you want is just outside your reach. Keep on searching”.

That’s about as true as it gets – for anyone, anytime.

But the best part is that this is a song where the emotions of the lyrics are perfectly matched by the sunny, slightly psychedelic pop sound underneath it. My favorite moment is just after the 3 minute mark where a little instrumental interlude hits me right in that place, midway between my ribs and my belly button, my emotional gut. I could listen to this song over and over again – and I have – but I’m even more excited that they have new music on the horizon. And its good.

The New Jersey band, now signed toDomino, is offering up their track “It’s Real” and it’s already a new favorite.

You can download the track by clicking MP3 on the player above. Their new album, “Days”, will be out on October 17.
