Ryn Weaver: Artist You Should Know

As I write this, Ryn Weaver’s “OctaHate” has been out on Soundcloud for less than 24 hours and has already amassed 80,000 plays. This is the internet version of overnight stardom.

Having never heard Ryn Weaver’s name 24 hours ago, it would be easy to brush this all off as hype for the sake of hype, but as I listen to “OctaHate” for the fifth time in a row, I am convinced the excitement is totally justified.

This is a JAM with a capital “J”.

Cashmere Cat’s involvement as co-producer on “OctaHate” (along with Benny Blanco and Passion Pit) may have been my entrée into this track, but make no mistake — this is Ryn Weaver’s show, and Ms. Weaver may have just crafted the pop jam of the summer.
