There’s nothing like a jolt of power pop to start the morning. Today’s nugget of joy is brought to us by Brooklyn’s Sean Bones.

Bones’ music has a bit of an island vibe as he dabbles in surf guitar, reggae riffs, steel drums and other feel-good sounds, both on his new album “Buzzards Boy” as well as his 2009 release “RINGS”.

But “Here Now” is pure pop, described in an email from his manager as “a spring anthem, a fun Spoon-meets Hey Ya– vibe”. That description is pretty right on.

Stream “Here Now” below and DOWNLOAD it here.

This single is the last song Bones wrote for the record, out in May, and he came to LA to record it, with the help of Lewis Pesacov (from local favorites Fools Gold)

Check out another one of my faves from the record, “Hit Me Up”.

Catch him at SXSW if you’re headed that way and hang tight for the announcement of an LA date.
