Steve Gunn’s brand of immersive, psychedelic indie rock sways and unfolds with a dynamism all its own. The talented guitarist and ace songwriter paints vivid pictures with his words and music, and his most recent track “Vagabond” displays this effortlessly.

“Vagabond” (from his forthcoming 4th album The Unseen In Between) is a direct and dusty rocker – equal parts catchy pop and fuzzed out twang. Gunn introduces us to some interesting characters along the way and it’s buoyed by the impressive vocal harmonies of Meg Baird (Heron Oblivion).

For those unfamiliar with his work, Gunn was a one-time guitarist in Kurt Vile’s backing band The Violators, and he’s also produced records for long time English folk staple Michael Chapman. His 2016 release Eyes On the Lines marked his move to Matador Records, and received plenty of critical adoration. His command of the guitar is unparalleled, his songwriting alive, and he’s an artist to keep tabs on in 2019.

The Unseen In Betweendrops January 18 (Matador) and you can catch him live (highly recommended) at the Teragram Ballroom February 9th.
