Australian electronic musician/singer Chet Faker first came on our radar in 2012 with his debut EP “Thinking in Textures” and his cover of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity”.

Then last year he teamed up with fellow Aussie Flume for “Drop the Game”, an infectious track that was all over our airwaves – and rightfully so, with Chet’s sexy, easy going vocals laid over expert beats. It was easily one of the best songs of the year.

Now he’s preparing for his full length debut on Downtown/Future Classic and will be rolling through Austin for some shows before its release on April 15.

“Talk is Cheap” is the first single from “Built on Glass” and leads me to believe this album could make my favorites list this year.

He’s got this smooth, laidback, intimate style to his vocals and there is warmth that really sets him apart. It’s not surprising to hear he spent his youth producing house and disco because it’s the perfect combo of smartly crafted beats and R&B that takes his music to the next level.

Can’t wait to hear the full album!
