I found out about The Park when I was invited to DJ at their weekly residency in San Francisco.
They were backing the lovely Alice Russelland I’ve been a fan of their music and fun live show ever since.
They’ve been touring with the likes of Darondo, Nino Moschella, Freddie Gibbs and Wallpaper and returned to LA a few weeks back under the moniker of Grillade (pronounced GREE-YAWD) and performed at my weekly residency DIRTY KICKS.
Stream “Belleville”
After the gig, on a cold night, we decided to do a stop motion video in support of their single “Belleville“. We thought of many concepts while devouring our snacks in the car en route to the 4th Street Bridge in Downtown LA. We happened to find an open store that sold balloons and figured “how great would it be to have the balloon actually pull the various band members across LA at night and into the morning?”
We shot till the sun came up and you can see the results below. It’s also my directorial debut!
