Jurassic 5 live in 2001 and it still goes down as one of my favorite shows of all time. After their mind-blowing set, I waited around for 20 minutes to meet Chali 2na and asked him for a hug. He accepted with a smile.

They rose to fame around the time I moved to LA so I always associate them with the city and still mourn the fact that they broke up a few years back.

Cut to last night when I was listening to DJ Dan Wilcox’s Sunday show and I hear Chali’s always recognizable voice – albeit mashed up with some Alton Ellis – the classic “I’m Still in Love With You Girl”.

Come to find out it’s the “I’m Still in Love with Freedom” mash up by Leygos.

Stream below and download here.

Jurassic 5 vs Alton Ellis – I’m still in love with Freedom – Leygos uptown ranking refix by LEYGO

This groove is guaranteed to get you in a good mood and is out just in time for July 4.

Add it to your BBQ playlist now. Super summer vibes!
