Hey, Today’s Top Tuners! Another week of free music awaits you. We begin with a track from Sharon Jones and The Dap -Kings saxophonist Cochemea. On Tuesday we soar with the sound of Crane Like The Bird. What do you get when you mix a member of Field Music with one from Admiral Fallow? You Tell Me. That’s who! Big Wild come to LA with a couple of shows in March; one at The Observatory in Santa Ana and another at The Novo. And, Broken Social Scene are back with new music and a couple of shows at The Fonda in June.

Monday, Jan. 28 Cochemea “All My Relations”

After 15 years on the road as a saxophonist with Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings – Cochemea turns to his roots on a solo album that cuts deep. “All My Relations” flows with a hypnotic, indigenous influence that would make his ancestors proud.

Tuesday, Jan. 29 Crane Like The Bird “When I See” featuring Conor Oberst

As an esteemed drummer and prodigious songwriter – Kyle Crane has toured with greats like Neko Case and M. Ward. Given that, it’s not surprising to find James Mercer, Daniel Lanois, and even jazz pianist Brad Mehldau on his new album. Under the moniker Crane Like The Bird, the album serves as a tribute to his father. We were fortunate to premiere the track “When I See” featuring Conor Oberst, and today, you can download it for free!

Wednesday, Jan. 30 You Tell Me “Water Cooler”

Peter Brewis of Field Music and Sarah Hayes of Admiral Fallow team up as You Tell Me. Blending their distinct talents, You Tell Me, creates an atmosphere of 80’s inspired folk pop on “Water Cooler.”

Thursday, Jan. 31 Big Wild “City of Sound”

An artist to keep an eye on in 2019 – Portland-based Big Wild release their debut album tomorrow (February 1). “City of Sound” is deliciously dynamic and infectious.

Friday, Feb. 1 Broken Social Scene “All I Want”

We’re just two weeks away from a new EP from one of KCRW’s favorite Canadian collectives, Broken Social Scene, but you don’t have to wait to enjoy “All I Want.”
