Welcome back to Today’s Top Tune! This week we focus on Charles Bradley, who left us with one final album. Girlpool have a new song and announced a show in April at The Regent. French outfit Polo & Pan sweep us away with beautiful Bossa Nova. Plus, after 7 years, Citizen Cope is back with a new album and comes to LA in March. And, we celebrate the Winter Solstice with a song from Sam Evian recorded on Morning Becomes Eclectic.

Monday, Dec. 17 Charles Bradley “Slip Away”

The fourth and final recording by Charles Bradley is a 10-song celebration culled together by friends and family. A collection of new and never released songs recorded during the creation of each of his albums. We explore this soulful singers legacy. “Slip Away” is one of them.

Tuesday, Dec. 18 Girlpool “Hire”

Cool, catchy, and under 3 minutes – Girlpool’s new song “Hire” is an example of an ever-evolving young band.

Wednesday, Dec. 19 Polo & Pan “Zoom Zoom”

Leave it to Parisian DJs and producers Polo & Pan to beef up Edu Lobo’s “Zum Zum” with new beats. Check out their spin with “Zoom Zoom.”

Thursday, Dec. 20 Citizen Cope “Justice”

Citizen Cope has finally announced his first album in 7 years, Heroin and Helicopters, dropping in March. Asked about the first single, “Justice,” Clarence Greenwood aka Citizen Cope responded: “Our definition is more like revenge or payback but I have seen love create miracles and overcome hate.”

Friday, Dec. 21 Sam Evian “Summer Day” Live on MBE

On the Winter Solstice, we mark the longest night of winter but today, we ask Sam Evian to warm us up with “Summer Day.” We offer you a live version recorded on Morning Becomes Eclectic.
