This week Today’s Top Tune turns to the latest sounds from Aquilo. (Be sure to watch the production duo’s Looped session with KCRW host Anthony Valadez.) Before heading out to see KCRW presents Margo Price at the Fonda on March 5, take in a new song featuring none other than Willie Nelson. Morrissey: Spent the Day In Bed

Morrissey provides sage advice during these troubled times when he sings Spent the Day In Bed: “And I recommend that you stop watching the news, because the news contrives to frighten you, to make you feel small and alone, to make you feel that your mind isn’t your own. I spent the day in bed. It’s a consolation.” Who can argue that?

    Johnny Frank: Jenny

Johnny Frank toils at a chemical processing plant by day while moonlighting as the next rock star. The monotony of his daily routine made him crave more of a creative outlet so he turned to what he knows best, music. The result is his solo project, in which he favors honest songwriting and simple production. Jenny is a melancholic look at unrequited love.

Margo Price: Learning to Lose (feat. Willie Nelson)

Last November, Margo Price took her hard working band back into a Memphis studio to start work on a new album. The sessions rendered over 30 new songs to choose from. The dozen winners include Learning to Lose, which features the iconic Willie Nelson.

    Knox Fortune: Lil Thing

Chicago-based Knox Fortune has made a name for himself through his collaborations with artists like Vic Mensa and Chance the Rapper. Now it’s his turn to shine as he steps out on his own with Lil Thing, a sweet and breezy melody.
