Guess what? You don’t have to win the lottery to get these 5 free downloads! First up, it’s Beach House! Grab a trackbefore they return to LA for a 2-night sold out stint at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. You can take away a new song from Melody’s Echo Chamber, as they continue their folk-prog odyssey with a new album on the horizon. The Pendletons provide some badass funk. We get behind Amo Amo produced by Jim James. And, finally, round out the week with new KCRW favorite Sam Evian.

Monday, May 14 Beach House “Lemon Glow”

For Beach House’s 7th recording, the duo began to rethink their approach and shed some of their self-imposed limitations (including only writing parts that can be performed live). The studio became a lab, where they tinkered and experimented and “Lemon Glow” is one of those songs

Tuesday, May 15 Melody’s Echo Chamber “Breathe In, Breathe Out”

Melody Prochet – the force behind Melody’s Echo Chamber – went back to her childhood music conservatory (at the age of 30), to learn to play the drums. “Breathe In, Breathe Out” is the first song Melody played drums on and says about the song “It’s a special one. I’m used to recording with masters of drums and accepting my drum playing as not perfect but with the right intention was a big deal to me.”

Wednesday, May 16 The Pendletons “Funk Forever”

E da Bass (of Myron and E) and Trailer Limon team up as The Pendletons, conjuring up old-school funk. Today’s track comes with a sexy horn section and finger snapping bass line. Here’s “Funk Forever.”

Thursday, May 17 Amo Amo “When We’re Gone”

Back in June 2017, Jim James invited a group of musical friends to get together for an impromptu jam. This particular group of seasoned musicians shared a bond that would lead to a revelation in sound and eventually, “When We’re Gone.”

Friday, May 18 Sam Evian “Health Machine”

Sam Evian is the moniker of New York based musician and producer Sam Owens. A track we love is “Health Machine,” a crunchy reverb-laden ditty about taking care of his health while on the road.
