After announcing their “extreme hiatus” late last year, members of The Walkmen have taken time out to slink into their individual worlds of personal modern urbanity.

For example, bassist Peter Matthew Bauer seemingly settled into a relatively quiet life of Indian astrological consultation in Mt. Airy Philadelphia.

However, apparently as the timeless saying goes, “you can lead a Walkman to water, but you can’t make them stop making rad, jangly rock stompers.”

Band members are each working on solo projects. Bauer’s “Liberation!” comes out this summer on Mexican Summer.

Below stream Bauer’s new ragged anthem “Latin American Ficciones.”
