There’s some good foodie news, and some bad foodie news.

The bad news is a couple well loved restaurants closed their doors these past couple weeks. We said farewell to Sojourner Cafe and Arch Rock Fish. You’ll be missed.

But, the good news is some new ones are opening up, and others are gaining well-deserved notoriety.

To fill us in on it all, Matt Kettmann, editor at the Santa Barbara Independent and Wine Enthusiast stopped by.

A “taste” of the Independent’s 2015 Foodie Award recipients:

The Cook’s Cook Award: Julienne’s Justin West and Wildwood Kitchen

Putting the “To” in Farm-to-Table Award: Harvest Santa Barbara

Lifetime Achievement Award: Paradise Cafe

For all the winners, grab a copy of this week’s Independent.

Matt Kettmann catches up with us every Wednesday morning and afternoon on 88.7 FM in Santa Barbara. You can hear his past segments on food and wine here.
