    The bad news? Because of California’s financial problems, our state parks system has had to weather a series of budget cuts that could mean the closure of some park areas.

    So, if you plan on visiting a particular state park this summer, will it be open for your enjoyment? I talked to Roy Stearns, a spokesman for California State Parks about the state of our state parks and what’s being done to make sure as many as possible stay open. He says we don’t yet know how many will have to close.
