For the better part of the last two years my friend Bill Esparza aka StreetGourmetLA has been talking my ear off about Comida Corrida, the traditional mid-day Mexican meal that comforts and energizes that country’s citizens.  La Comida is The Meal.  Comida Corrida is a 3-course all inclusive meal that includes  a soup, a “dry soup” of a rice or pasta dish, a guisado, or stew, and often is followed by dessert.

Bill and I created Street Food Mondays to bring street food to those underserved barrios of West Los Angeles, Mid-City, the Fairfax District, and more.  This Monday you can experience the Comida Corrida at Angeli.  Hortencia Hernandez and her daughters will bring a taste of their truck, Antojitos de mi Abuelita to Melrose.  For a complete explanation of Corrida Comida check out Bill’s travels in Mexico.
