You won't see actress Jane Lynch indulging in any emotional moments of self-reflection in her new cabaret show, See Jane Sing, which comes to the Annenberg on May 1.
The show is fast-paced and funny, she says. "There aren't any moments where I shed a tear for my inner child." After coming through the Chicago theater scene and getting sober, Lynch's acting changed, and it wasn't until a chance meeting with Christopher Guest that she really felt she had arrived.
Now of course, most fans know her as Coach Sue Sylvester on Fox's hit TV show Glee, where she got to perform songs from Madonna and Nicki Minaj, most memorably.
She has also graced the Broadway stage as Miss Hannigan in Annie.
No matter the platform, Lynch has a certain exuberance that makes her a natural musical performer.
