Cate Le Bon: Artist You Should Know

After two weeks of drooling over this song every time Jason plays it, I decided it was time to finally share my love with the world.

Cate Le Bon’s “Puts Me to Work” is a groovy tune. I just love the vibe of it and those pretty harmonies in the chorus.  Sometimes you don’t have to dig too deep to know you like something and this is a perfect example.

Her press folks describe her music as “a heady and highly personal Gallic stew of equal parts Nico, Malkmus and the chronicler’s own emotional observations on the impossibility of existence.” For me, I just think this is a perfect pop song.

Right now the UK singer is wrapping up a tour with another KCRW favorite, St Vincent.

She recorded a full length album, entitled “CYRK”, earlier this year that will be released in January 2012 and I can’t wait to hear the rest of it.

Below is the tracklisting.
