Clock Opera: Artist You Should Know

Written by

My first encounter with Clock Opera was a lush Psychemagik remix of their single A Piece of String early last year. A bewildering crush of melodies and spectral flourishes, the track is an optical illusion of sound that I would listen to on repeat for 40 minutes at a time, trying to figure out what I was hearing.

A Piece Of String – Clock Opera (Psychemagik Remix) by Psychemagik

At the time I came across that wonder, information on the band was spotty at best, although one listen and you knew the band was obviously someone to watch. Since then, they’ve gone on to create spectacular remixes for The Drums, Metronomy, and Feist. And now, they’re finally set to release their debut album, Ways To Forget.

The fact that they’re performing at KCRW’s SXSW Showcase  Friday night means that the album and band are fit to give it a go. Clock Opera are kicking off their Spring UK tour with just a handful of dates here in the States and KCRW is a part of it.
