End of Daze for SoCal’s Dum Dum Girls

The Dum Dum Girls’ 2011 Sub Pop release “Only in Dreams” was a stunner. They took their fuzzy noise pop sound and gave it a little polish (as they describe it: “blissed out buzzsaw”) that made it ultimately more enjoyable.

Dee Dee’s vocals are always the heart and soul of every song and that never changed. In fact, I believe it was a better display for both her words and her singing. (Check out a clip from their MBE performance right here).

Now the SoCal-based girl band has put out the “End of Daze” EP, which continues in that direction, including the very excellent “Lord Knows”. For fans of Portishead and Mazzy Star
