Sneakily Ben Watt has become one of the great Renaissance men of the new millennium.
Best known for his long-time collaboration with spouse Tracey Thorn in Everything But the Girl, Watt has also worked as a solo artist, a club and radio DJ, the head of a record label (Buzzin’ Fly, whose latest release is a new remix EP of tracks from his 2014 album, “Hendra“), and as an acclaimed memoirist.
Thanks to the recent album, he has also embarked on his first touring in many a year, joined by guitarist Bernard Butler (of Suede fame), with whom Watt collaborated on the album.
Watt returns to LA stages for a solo gig at the Troubadour next week, Monday, December 1.
To prepare for this rare opportunity, take a listen to a recent live version of the elegant title cut, recorded in London. It makes it pretty clear that one shouldn’t miss out on Watt’s recent doings.
