Local favorites The Record Company make their full-length debut

The Record Company are one of those great local bands that have been bubbling just under the radar for a few years, self-releasing a series of singles & EP, as well as performing countless live shows both in local clubs and touring the world as an opening act for the likes of Trombone Shorty, Social Distortion & BB King, but ultimately taking their time to find the right moment to release their debut album.  That time has come, and the bluesy rock & roll trio mark the occasion with a video preview of the record, Give It Back to You, which comes out 2/12 on Concord Records, which we are happy to premiere:

We take special pride in celebrating their new record as The Record Company were one of the first bands that we discovered through our Malcolm digital submission system back in 2012.  We even featured them on our debut Malcolm podcast!  Speaking with lead singer & guitarist Chris Vos about Malcolm, he said, “That was a very exciting thing for us.  We were obviously thrilled to be a part of getting things started over there at KCRW.  That was a very cool moment, and it was a great thing to have the opportunity to submit that way.  It was nice to get the benefit from that program.”

KCRW DJ Jason Kramer has also been a longtime supporter of the band, saying “listening to The Record Company play rock & roll is like having a nice shot of whisky. Both are absolutely pure.”  You can check them out yourself, as they play the Echoplex for their special hometown record release party on Friday, February 12.
