I went through a whirlwind of experiences in listening to Lou Doillon for the first time.
First off, I clicked play on a video expecting to hear a man, only to find out it’s a beautiful woman.
I looked at her face and thought she looked incredibly familiar. I couldn’t exactly put my finger on it.
Then I found out she is the daughter of French singer and actress Jane Birkin (and director Jacques Doillon) and half-sister to Charlotte Gainsbourg and it ALL made sense.
The actress/model turned singer put out her debut full length “Places” earlier this year and”Devil or Angel” is among my favorite tracks.

She makes her MBE debut on October 10 and play a show at the El Rey on October 11 as part of the Ooh La La Festival.
