New Video From Bonde Do Role…KILO!

Bonde Do Role are back!

Their follow-up to With Lazers is in the can, so to speak…and it’s an industrial size can of trippy FRUIT COCKTAIL!

“Tropicalbacanal”, which is due in late June is produced by longtime collaborator Diplo and LA’s daytime disco Poolside prince, Filip Nikolic. It also features tracks with Das Racist, The Death Set, and…wait for it, Caetano Veloso. (FYI, IMHO: That’s unbelievably freaking amazing.)

The first single, “Kilo“, has a total 60s Thai Psych vibe and sounds like it could be about drugs, but it’s actually about food (as a metaphor for sex) and it’s all in Portuguese.

The video takes that totally bonkers aspect and goes one further by casting the band as a bar-band in a bar shaped like a pineapple in a superfruity desert landscape where a cowboy (played by the ridiculously handsome Blackberry salesman Diplo) plays a real life video game handed to him by a fake Willie Nelson. The object of the game is to win points by blasting scantily clad women (riding a mechanical sumo wrestler) with fruit and hot dogs. Also, Pedro is DJing on pineapple slices and Gorky plays a drum set made out of watermelon. NBD.

Warning this is slightly NSFW!

It’s like a warped pervvy cowboy version of Pee-Wee’s Playhouse if it was set in the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World universe directed by Quentin Tarantino, doing his version of Russ Meyer’s version of a video for Love Shack.
