While there, she met a hip-hop music producer who told her to stop messing around with indie-rock cause she was a soul singer. Atkins ended up recording an album’s worth of songs inspired by the likes of Dusty Springfield, Candi Staton, and Loretta Lynn. Check out “Darkness Falls.”

Davie’s formative years were spent singing at church where he developed his love for Gospel. He later moved to the stage, backing the likes of Cee Lo Green and Childish Gambino.
