Hand-Picked Music Post-punk / New WaveExperimental
Tonight’s show is I think, one of the more interesting ones we’ve had for a long time. As I put these together, they take on a life of their own. I started out with the Prehensile Monkeytailed Skink track, the vocal is fantastic. I don’t know what made me put the Monks track after it but it seemed to me the only track to go to. I went on from there and the further I got into it, the more it felt like the thing was putting itself together...

Fanatics!

I went on from there and the further I got into it, the more it felt like the thing was putting itself together. These shows sometimes take on a life of their own. I listened to the whole thing from top to bottom and after a few minor changes, I called it finished. The WhiteBuzz track is another one from the Meteor City label. I am liking this label a lot and this album is one of my favorites. I don’t know if it’s out yet but we’re playing it tonight. Some great sounds on this track and on the album, too. I have been holding back this very cool Alan Vega track for awhile. It’s from a soundtrack to a film called Sombre, which I know nothing about but found out that Alan had put the soundtrack together so I had to check it out. The soundtrack has a lot of tracks from some of Vega’s other albums but this one track is, as far as I know, unique to this album so it was a worthwhile purchase, it’s a great song, too. Prepare to have your head caved in by the Keiji Haino / Pan Sonic track. What an album! It’s like the missing Fushitsusha album you’ve been waiting for. This track might not appeal to all of you but I think it’s a great one. We close with Brigitte Fontaine and call it a night. I hope you like this group of songs. If you find some of the sounds and textures not to be to your liking, don’t stop listening! Stay with it and STAY FANATIC!!!
