Fanatic. It’s 0053 hrs. I’m in Washington DC. Later today, I’ll be at a memorial for the great Skip Groff. You might have heard me mention Skip before. He produced my first record, Ian’s first record and owned the legendary Yesterday & Today Records store.

If you’re lucky enough to have a record store where you live that’s really great, it’s more than a place you buy music. It’s a place where you learn, meet other Fanatics and find community. Y&T was that place for me and many others. A lot of them will be in attendance later today.

This is the main reason I flew here last Thursday. Friday night, being able to attend Kid Congo’s birthday party at Comet Ping Pong, location of the “Pizzagate” incident was a lucky turn of events. Our pal and sonic ally Kid, is turning 60 this week. He and his incredible band played and as you can imagine, were great. What a band.

Earlier, I was at dinner with Ian, Amy Farina and Guy Picciotto, who’s here for the memorial. I couldn’t help it, I kept looking at the two of them and tripping on seeing both of them in the same place.

Fanatic, as you can see, we have a great show lined up for you. I hope you like it.

Thanks for listening and STAY FANATIC!!!
