Fanatic. The great McCoy Tyner, Jazz pianist extraordinaire, the last remaining member of the legendary Classic Quartet, with John Coltrane, Elvin Jones and Jimmy Garrison, has passed away. Friday night, I listened to the excellent Both Directions At Once 2LP set and thought about how lucky we are to have their music.

One of the albums I’m very excited about is the 14 LP set of the Stooges Fun House Sessions coming out in a limited edition of in July. I’ve just finished playing all the test pressings and it’s amazing.

Please make note and clear your calendar for March 22 when the Butch Willis documentary Amateur On Plastic will be showing at Zebulon. I’ve been looking forward to seeing this since I heard about it. Information | Trailer

On April 1 and 2, Les Filles de Illighadad of Niger will be at Zebulon. Great music.

Also, there’s more great news. Lorelle Meets The Obsolete is playing at the Echo on April 6

The new Le Butcherettes 12” is out and it’s great. The new Cold Beat album Mother is Hannah’s best.

The Wasted Shirt album is out and it’s a monster. So many great albums out right now.

We have a great show lined up for you with more to come. There are some great records coming out this year. In a few weeks, we’ll be able to start the Coriky album. It’s great and we’ll get into all of it.

A few hours ago, I was talking to a member of a legendary LA band and he told me that they planned on releasing some of their old recordings this year. This is great news and since there’s no formal release date, I’ll wait to hear  more news but if it happens, this will be great.

Also, get ready for two great RSD 2020 releases coming out on In The Red Records that Larry Hardy and I have prepared for your enjoyment. The test pressings are band and they sound amazing. So stoked about this. We’re already lining up more for later this year.

I hope you dig the show and until next week, enjoy the spring weather and stay Fanatic.
