Those crisp fall breezes got you feeling some type of way? Get ready to get in your feels, because Brooklyn indie crooner Nick Hakim is back with his third album, “COMETA,” due out this Friday, Oct. 21. The record, which includes features from the likes of DJ Dahi and Helado Negro, is described as “a series of romantic songs through different lenses.” And romance, of course, extends to the self — on cue from “COMETA,” we’ve got Hakim’s track “Feeling Myself,” like when you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror on a good day…

Also on deck is “PRAGMATIC” from Little Simz collaborator OTG, who serves up a unique flow and style with a signature, puncture Bri-ish accent.

Above all, today we’re celebrating the birthday of the woman, the myth, the legend that is KCRW Music’s Executive Producer Ariana Morgenstern. The KCRW OG is the backbone of the department and station with a decades-deep wealth of knowledge, passion, and good-ass taste.

Join us in reflecting on Ariana’s ability to get things done as a widely-respected (and wildly stylish) megaforce. We’ve got anecdotes for the ages.

Last but not least, we offer you Oingo Boingo’s “Just Another Day” and an accompanying Spooky Szn factoid: The band’s album “Dead Man’s Party” was released Oct. 28, 1985 — the same day that this year Oingo Boingo mastermind Danny Elfman is playing the Hollywood Bowl (that's this Friday, Oct. 28). Coincidence? Grand plan? Or magical Halloween wizardry? Either way, the stars have aligned for us to give away five pairs of tickets to the festive evening. If you haven't won anything from us in the past 90 days, enter for your chance to win. These tickets are non-transferable — good luck!
