*Also on tour with Beck during August 2002. Bossa Nova first brought celebrated guitarist Smokey Hormel and Cibo Matto-s Miho Hatori together in 2000 to create a band inspired by their early experiences and continuing love of the Brazilian sound. An EP of mainly self-written samba-driven songs (Os Afros Sambas) followed in February 2002.

Now planning a second self released EP Tempo de Amor- for November 2002, the unsigned band played six tracks during the show including their own work and songs by Baden Powel and Jorge Ben. This was Miho-s fourth live appearance on KCRW, having previously performed twice with Cibo Matto and more recently as a vocalist with the Baldwin Brothers.
