Two weeks from today will mark my 13th year at KCRW. Yeah, I can't believe it either. In those 13 years, I have had the pleasure of seeing sessions from Little Dragon, Thievery Corporation, Anderson .Paak, King Krule, Adele, Hiatus Kaiyote and the list goes on and on. You would think that it would be very difficult for me to choose just one to share with you today - but it wasn't. The first session that immediately came to mind was Marlon Williams.

I’ve been a fan of Marlon's since his self-titled 2016 debut. Blues, country, and a bit of folk...I was immediately struck by this Kiwi’s flawless execution of all the classic Americana styles. Williams is also a superb songwriter, with a voice that reminds you of a mix of Chris Isaak and Roy Orbison. He also sounds like he oozes cool like the great Johnny Cash or James Dean.

He continued to display all of that with his sophomore release Make Way for Love, which was the album he was promoting when he stopped by KCRW’s studios in 2018. So you can imagine how excited I was to see if his live performance lived up to his recordings; and man, he did not disappoint. Turns out, he's even better live!

If you can, snuggle up and check out Marlon Williams live on Morning Becomes Eclectic, from Feb 12th, 2018. Stay healthy and sane!
