Were we lowkey expecting “I Heard It Through The Bassline,” the new single from Swedish DJ Tiger Stripes, to be a mutant-disco-y update on the Motown classic “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” (as filtered through The Slits’ blistering 1979 cover)? Well, yeah, kinda. But, the stylish, bass-forward grooves that we have instead are hitting our ears just fine. Hear it for yourself alongside Anna Lunoe’s “Pearl,” the exuberant title track to the Australian producer’s debut LP — due Oct. 25 via NLV Records.
