LA District Attorney George Gascón’s ambitious reforms don’t go over well with rank and file prosecutors

Earlier this week, George Gascón took the reins as LA County’s district attorney. He promised major reforms, including ending cash bail, banning prosecutors from seeking enhanced prison sentences, and showing leniency to low-level offenders. But some of his staff, LA County prosecutors, and judges have been defying orders to implement those reforms.
