California early voter turnout is smashing records. Will it continue?

More than 5 million Californians have already cast ballots in the general election. That’s roughly 24% of all registered voters. There are still 12 days to go. Political analysts say this historically high early turnout is due to universal mail-in ballots, voter enthusiasm, and a new trend this year of Democrats voting earlier than Republicans.
