Sochi is a summer resort town on the Black Sea coast at the southern tip of Russia. Despite having a subtropical climate, Sochi was selected to host the 2014 Winter Olympics., which begin next month. For the last 5 years, Dutch journalist Arnold van Bruggen has been traveling to the region with photographer Rob Hornstra. The result is a hefty and impressive photography book put out by Aperture called The Sochi Project: An Atlas of War and Tourism in the Caucasus.
